From mainstream publications to specialized outlets, everyone is talking about “algorithmic bias”. No one (well, hopefully no one!) wants to build algorithms that encourage discrimination, stereotypes and inequalities. Yet it is happening over and over again. Why? That’s because algorithms reflect the biases in our questions and data.
In this session, we will take a deep-dive into how to be critical about not only the data we use but also ourselves. We believe that our technologies can make the world better, but are we willing to change our views to make it happen?
